The newer LED backlighting engineering got their begin in 2007, when Apple, Inc. released so it could start moving from applying CCFL pipes for backlighting in its shows, and instead use LED lights. CCFL backlights can just only be dimmed so much and are confined in the dark contrasts they could provide. LED backlighting may be lowered as well as shut-down to offer pure-dark contrasts.
